Terms and Conditions
Insurance: All Walk Leaders and Group Members over the age of 16 are covered by TYW Group public liability insurance.
Disclaimer: All participitants, participate at their own risk, adults decide whether the chosen event is for them or their children. The level of participation, in any event, is always a personal choice.
Personal Insurance: We recommend that you take out a personal activity insurance plan to protect from any loss of income following the rare event of an accident whilst out walking or on a walk.
Estimated timings: The duration of the walk is a guide only. The pace depends on numbers and fitness of the group and weather conditions. The walk leader will adapt the walk to suit the pace of the slowest participant.
Evening Walks: The winter evening walks only have a short window to complete before sunset so it is very important that we set off at the specified start time.
Routes: Some routes may feel a little more challenging than expected. Some tracks and paths are not as defined, if the ground or weather has encouraged bad terrain and overgrowth. So it is important that walking boots are always worn even on hot days. So please always be prepared for the unexpected.
Circular Routes: All walks are circular unless otherwise stated.
Walking Attire/Footwear: Please note, the walk leader reserves the right to refuse to allow any walker to join in if inadequately dressed or would clearly struggle to complete the walk.
Pace: Walkers are requested to keep behind the leader in order that a pace can be maintained for the benefit of all the party.
Severe weather: In severe weather conditions, please contact the walk leader by phone to see if the walk is going ahead.
Car Parking: Ensure when you are parking, that your vehicle does not create a hazard and does not obstruct entrances or other traffic. Please car share or use public transport wherever possible.
Meeting Point: Each walk has the start point listed, please, be boot ready and arrive in plenty of time to leave at the listed time.
Cancelation of events: On the rare occasion I may need to cancel an event because of something in my own personal life, health or wellbeing, if this is the case, please understand I am solely running this group and it can be extremely demanding at times, so I apologise in advance if I ever need to cancel.
Photographs: are great, but please only upload photo's to any social media of the scenery and surroundings or if you do take photographs of the members in the group, please check that they are happy for you to do so.
Inclusive Culture: We pride the group on being caring, compassionate and want everyone on the walks to truly enjoy being part of a positive, wellness team. Together, we can make change, we can become completely inclusive and support others on their journey to enjoy nature and the great outdoors. The walks are aimed at being an inclusive group, to encourage wellness and wellbeing over the walk itself, is not intended for those who are wishing to hit the mountains for speed, exertion and as an endurance challenge
Car-Share: For the purposes of safety. Please do not offer car-share or ask for car-share until you have attended a few walks and know members of the group, this is purely for the safety and understanding that we do not encourage anyone to get into a car with people you have not yet met or know.
Social Etiquette: Choose your conversations/chat carefully, try to stay as upbeat and as positive as you can, be aware of diversity and inclusion, and have an awareness of social etiquette and unconscious bias. Any negative social behaviour or comments - you will be instantly removed and unable to join any future walks. I encourage people to interact and enjoy the walks with others as much as they can, but I also want everyone to be very considerate of how they interact on the walks.
